BEAUTY FROM THE INSIDE OUT…it’s not just a feeling or physical presence. It’s a women’s event held every year on a Saturday in October and you may have heard of it, but perhaps don't know what it’s about. Its objective is to build relationships in the community of women in Clark County, OH, and surrounding areas. Its ultimate goal is to bring ladies (whatever their age) into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. This event gives women healthy insights on how to become beautiful from the inside out. It is a unique and wonderful opportunity for women just to be women and to have a fun and a memorable time together!

The first Beauty from the Inside Out was in 2002 and was held at the Northwood Hills Country Club with keynote speaker Darlene McKinney, Mrs. Ohio 2001, along with Sue Smedley and Marge Greenwood with the theme The Proverbs 31 Woman. Darlene made us more aware of Osteoporosis and how she was diagnosed with this disease at a young age. Sue Smedley gave an inspirational presentation about her journey of faith. Marge Greenwood offered the audience principles of the “Proverbs 31 Woman” which we are all aspiring to be. It was a fun and informative morning for all!

In 2003, at Cedarville University, Jennifer O’Neill, actress and author, was the keynote speaker who gave a wonderful testimony about her life with the theme Come See the Other Side of Hollywood. Jennifer revealed how abortion harms women. She told of her spiritual journey and how God healed her heart from a dark and dreary abortion experience. Her book From Fallen to Forgiven was also available after the event for signing. Kathy Wright, Frownies Co-Owner, was this event’s emcee and she also was one of the businesses representing beauty products. She presented her beauty tips with demonstrations of her famous products which have been known as the “best kept secret” of the Hollywood stars for over 150 years!

It was over to the Courtyard by Marriott in 2004 with Ruth Hess as the keynote speaker with the theme Celebrating the Excellence of Home. Ruth supplied us many decorating tips for every season of the year. Glenda Greenwood was also there to give us biblical principles on how to handle finances along with the best budgeting methods. It was a great time for laughing and sharing!

October 2005, Oakwood Village retirement campus was the host location and the speaker was Colleen Sharp Murray, quite an ageless beauty. If you are from the central or southern part of Ohio, Kentucky or Indiana, you may remember her as one of the singer/cohosts of the WLW-Ruth Lyons’ Fifty-Fifty Club (during the 1960’s). Colleen gave an inspiring message as well as sang a few songs that were just beautiful. And, if it’s possible, she seems even more charming than in those days of the Fifty-Fifty Club.

In 2006, Karen O’Connor, author and speaker, joined us as our featured speaker at the Sprinfield Country Club and she was wonderful! Her enthusiasm was like a breath of fresh air. She gave terrific insights from one of her books on how to Squeeze the Moment for all its worth! The ladies attending the event enjoyed her as well as the opportunity to purchase just a few of her most recent books as she has written well over forty to date!

The 2007 event took a different spin on beauty with Beauty in Business with keynote speaker Cheryl Krueger of Columbus, OH. Cheryl is CEO/Founder of Cheryl&Co. In 1981, Cheryl began her cookie business with her Grandmother Elsie’s cookie recipe. She brought her company from humble beginnings to where it is today, a multi-million dollar business, and works hard to continue to fulfill its mission statement of being the best gourmet food and gift company, ever! Her talk was very motivating and inspiring to everyone!

I can’t express enough how abundantly blessed I am by this event each year. The Lord places on my heart more reasons why I should continue for Him in hosting this gathering. Not only is it a blessing to me, but many other ladies as well. Revenues from this event help to support the Family Journal Magazine and this website.

I am praying that you will mark your calendar every October to attend this event which is usually held a Saturday in October. I invite you to sign-up for the free event newsletter announcing news about speakers as well as many other updates.
